Dr Brian Lipworth
Professor of Allergy and Pulmonology, University of Dundee & Head of Scottish Centre for Respiratory Research, Ninewells Hopital and Medical School
Brian Lipworth’s research interests include the investigation and management of allergic airway disease phenotypes. To date he has authored over 580 articles with an h index of 77.
He founded the Scottish Centre for Respiratory Research, a group of clinical academics who carry out internationally renowned research in the field of clinical airways research.
He received his medical training at the University of Manchester and the University of St. Andrews. He has been visiting professor at Harvard University and University of Florida, Honorary clinical professor at St Andrews University and University of Central Lancashire.
He is a passionate Man Utd supporter, plays golf (rather badly) as a member of Machrihanish golf club, is a competitive swimmer (quite slowly) and likes drinking fine claret and rare Scotch malt whisky (preferably when someone else is paying the bill).
