Ian has previously been a Chief Pharmacist of 3 Acute and mixed NHS Trusts. He also worked in community pharmacy, served a commission in the Royal Army Medical Corp and was a Chief Pharmacist of a Middle East hospital in Sharjah, UAE.
Whilst an NHS Chief Pharmacist he also had positions as a women’s health business manager, surgical general manager and Clinical Lead for Clinical Support Services. In 2000 he received the Health Service Journal Management clinical risk initiative of the year award.
Additionally he was, for a number of years, a Commission for Health Improvement inspector.
He has chaired a number of pharmacy regional committees in the South East of England and been a member of a number of national committees.
Ian has now retired from the NHS but is retaining a keen interest in NHS politics and organisational change whilst playing golf and enjoying a West Country lifestyle.
