Jonathan studied pharmacy at King’s College London and qualified in 1990. He has worked for the NHS since 1989, initially in the hospital sector at Guy’s hospital then at Westminster and Chelsea and Westminster hospitals. This also included a 3 year period as a Teacher-Practitioner at King’s College London.
In 1999, Jonathan moved to Wales to take up the post of Prescribing Support Pharmacist with Torfaen Local Health Group and then became Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Management in 2006 following the formation of Local Health Boards. He has been Clinical Director of Pharmacy since 2010.
Jonathan has also continued his interest in training and education, acting as a trainer with the National Prescribing Centre and is now a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Medicines and Prescribing Associate.
Jonathan has served on the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group, the All Wales Prescribing Advisory Group and the Prudent Prescribing Implementation Group. He is currently Vice-chair of the Welsh Pharmaceutical Committee.
