Professor Rose Marie Parr

Rose Marie Parr undertook her pharmacy undergraduate degree and postgraduate degrees at the School of Pharmacy at Strathclyde University Glasgow and her Doctorate in Education at Glasgow University. She has worked in hospital pharmacy in the 1980-1990s in various posts in Lanarkshire Health Board and Forth Valley Health Board areas. In 1993, she became the Director of Postgraduate Pharmacy Education for Scotland and then, in April 2002, brought together with other professional educational groups into the special Health Board, NHS Education for Scotland (NES). Rose Marie Parr was the Director of Pharmacy for NHS Education for Scotland. She is past Chair of the Scottish Pharmacy Board of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB), a designated Fellow of the RPSGB and a RPS Faculty Fellow. Rose Marie currently holds honorary Professorships at both Scottish Schools of Pharmacy; Strathclyde University in Glasgow and Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Since June 1st 2015 , Rose Marie has taken up the post of Chief Pharmaceutical Officer (CPO) for Scotland, and is the policy and professional lead for Pharmaceutical Care and the NHS Pharmaceutical services across Scotland.
