FIRST PHARMACY MANAGEMENT AND UKCPA TRAINING DAY FOR GP CLINICAL PHARMACISTS VOTED A SUCCESS
As part of the ongoing partnership between UKCPA and Pharmacy Management the first programme of clinical and management skills training for Clinical Pharmacists in General Practices has got under way.
The programme is divided into Day 1 and Day 2 with approximately 6 months between them.
Each day focuses on Respiratory Medicines Skills and the development of Management Skills which are relevant.
The Clinical element of each day is designed and delivered by Specialist Clinical Pharmacists from the UKCPA Respiratory Interest Group and the Management Skills by Trainers from the Pharmacy Management Academy.
In Phase 1 of the PLATFORM programme meetings were held in Leeds, Birmingham and London.
The programme was initiated and funded by Teva UK Limited with all elements of the course being designed independently.
All delegates have been researched for their feedback on the first phase and the results below show high levels of satisfaction.
A more detailed report of the programme will be published in the January issue of the Journal of Pharmacy Management.
Teva UK Limited made the following statement:
Teva Respiratory welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with Pharmacy Management and UKCPA to deliver the PLATFORM programme. As an organisation we identified the need to support the Clinical Pharmacist in General Practice in providing education and learning in respiratory care and are extremely delighted with the feedback from the PLATFORM meetings which were held in June. We are looking forward to the follow up meetings in November 2017.
