Satellite Antithrombotics - managing combination therapies
Speakers Paul Wright, Lead Cardiac Pharmacist, Barts Health NHS Trust
Satellite Description

This session will focus on a common conundrum occurring in patients undergoing angioplasty – it is estimated that 10% of patients undergoing PCI will have an indication for anticoagulation.  This session will explore options of antithrombotic regimes and offer a guide for choosing an optimum strategy in this common but relatively evidence free problem.  The session will focus on evidence (positive and negative) for antiplatelet use in stroke and explore recent trials looking at anticoagulants following PCI.  The session will culminate in a look at 3 patient cases to put apply points covered throughout this session.
