Satellite Evidence for and Practical use of DOACS
Speakers Rebecca Chanda (Highly Specialist Pharmacist Anticoagulation, Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital & Honorary Clinical Lecturer, King’s College London.) and Rosalind Byrne (Senior Anticoagulation and Clinical Thrombosis Pharmacist, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust)
Satellite Description

Which DOAC for which patient? There are now four direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) available for the prevention of AF-related stroke. This satellite session will aim to discuss the differences between the DOACs and how this affects their use in clinical practice. We will use clinical cases to discuss the evidence for and the use of the DOACs. The clinical cases will cover patients with atrial fibrillation requiring stroke prevention, and the treatment of bleeding associated with DOACs. We will be looking for delegate participation in order to make a suitable treatment plan for each patient!
