It is estimated that there are 160,000 deaths in the UK each year attributed to cardiovascular disease. It is noted that 30% of premature deaths in males and 21% in females are of cardiovascular cause. The purpose of effective screening and appropriate management of those at high risk is to prevent premature death from cardiovascular disease. This session will go through available tools for cardiovascular risk assessment and through various case studies allow the participant to interact and develop appropriate management plans for a range of individuals. | ||||
