Satellite VTE Prophylaxis – what does NICE say?
Speakers Rosalind Byrne (Lead Pharmacist Anticoagulation, King's College Hospital NHS FT)
Satellite Description

In March this year NICE issued an updated guideline on reducing the risk of hospital acquired venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients over 16 years old. This guideline contains significant changes to the recommendations for the risk assessment and management of hospital in-patients who are at risk of VTE. The update has proved somewhat controversial. This session will run through the main changes to the guideline and the evidence (or lack of!) for the new recommendations. The session will also look at how these changes could be implemented and practical barriers to implementation.
