Satellite Description

iWantGreatCare is a world leading platform for independent patient reviews. Put simply it is the ‘TripAdvisor’ review for healthcare. The Rate-My-Inhaler project, which sees GSK in partnership with iWantGreatCare and Health Innovation Manchester (HInM), aims to be the simplest, easiest way for patients to rate and review their respiratory care, share the impact and the outcomes of their COPD inhalers and tell clinicians the difference they have made to their lives. This first-of-its-kind project, hopes to help HInM measure and evaluate patient outcomes & their experience as they optimise patient care through implementation of the Greater Manchester Medicines Management Guidelines (GMMMG), whilst demonstrating the GSK values of ‘Patient Focus’ and ‘Transparency’ which helps differentiate GSK as a trusted partner.

Quote: “We aim to build the biggest collection of data on outcomes in respiratory disease, and all of the practices here in Manchester, are going to have done it!” (Dr Neil Bacon CEO iWantGreatCare)

To help bring these patient voices to life, GSK and HinM are working with Aardman Animations, the four-time Oscar winning company, best known for their Wallace & Gromit films, to tell an engaging and impactful story. Characters will be selected based on the feedback patients leave on the iWantGreatCare platform. The chance to be animated as an Aardman character for a short film, created to share the experiences of patients living with COPD, is made clear to patients at the onset of the iWGC journey with the hope that it will encourage greater participation. Using these testimonials from real patients, we will create a unique piece of animation telling a story that captures hearts.
