A minimal intervention strategy was utilised within our practice to produce a substantial reduction in overall diazepam prescribing . We then demonstrated a sustained change in prescribing habit and relapse prevention which there is limited literature reports available. Long term side effects are well documented and NICE recommends that benzodiazepines should be used short term where possible . I would like to encourage you to reflect on prescribing practice and address the question - Can our project be replicated within other practices? I look forward to sharing our methods. | ||||
