Satellite Description

The evidence of the economics of diabetes management is complex. In an era of ever-increasing cost pressures on NHS services and the knowledge that the incidence of diabetes increasing there is an urgent need to equip ourselves with the skills to assess cost vs benefit. This presentation will consider the clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence for lifestyle interventions and medication for managing diabetes.

Sallianne has experienced a varied and fulfilling career with a secondary care focus with a specialist interest in both supporting people living with diabetes and developing the role of pharmacists and technicians in patient care. With a career that has encompassed provision of high-quality clinical care, many service development projects, audits and professional education she looks forward to being active in leading care in the future. She is currently joint chair for the Diabetes and Endocrinology group UKCPA.
