This promotional webinar was funded and reviewed by Mylan and includes discussion of its products. Objectives: Dr Dermot Ryan covers the best practice approach to integrated care for allergic rhinitis patients. The session will cover the diagnosis and classification of allergic rhinitis including perennial rhinitis and the differentiation from cold and flu, how allergic rhinitis impacts on asthma and how pharmacists play an important role in triage of allergic rhinitis patients. Speaker: Dr Dermot Ryan, Honorary Clinical Research Fellow, Allergy and Respiratory Research Group, University of Edinburgh and Vice President, Respiratory Effectiveness Group. Dr Dermot Ryan is Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and was the Chairman of the Primary Care Interest Group of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Recently retired from clinical practice, Dermot was a GP with a long-standing interest in respiratory disease and allergy as encountered in primary care. He has been chairman of the Primary Care Respiratory Society and established the chair of Primary Care Respiratory Medicine at the University of Aberdeen. He was instrumental in setting up Primary Care Respiratory Medicine, and was one of the clinical leads for respiratory disease for the East Midland Strategic Health Authority.
