With an estimated 26 million patients living with heart failure worldwide numbers of admissions to hospital with heart failure have never been higher. Survival rates remain poor with in-hospital mortality of 10% and a 1 year mortality in the region of 30%. For patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) there is a pharmacological evidence base shown to reduce mortality and morbidity offering an opportunity for pharmacists to improve patient outcomes This is a case based session that will cover:
