This satellite session will focus on the management of patients with complex medical conditions who require anticoagulation for stroke prevention in AF. The session will cover the use of anticoagulation in patients who have undergone cardiac intervention (e.g. PCI, CABG) and require antiplatelet therapy, anticoagulation use for AF in cancer patients, patients with concurrent renal impairment and patients with a history of bleeding. The session will involve discussion of patient cases and formation of a management plan for each scenario. At the end of the session attendees should feel more confident in their knowledge of the issues surrounding the management of anticoagulation in complex patients.
