Satellite Description

This session will aim to provide insights on the potential facilitators and barriers to the design of a pharmacist-led diabetes clinic service. It will discuss key steps to success including stakeholder engagement and managing team relationships, in addition to scoping local service needs. Communication and understanding of what values pharmacists can bring to the multidisciplinary diabetes team in both primary and secondary care settings will also be explored. It is an interactive session to encourage exchange of ideas and experiences to enrich the discussion.

 

Michelle is a Diabetes Clinical Pharmacist at Luton Clinical Commissioning Group with her main role delivering diabetes cardiovascular risk clinics. She is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at The Manchester School of Pharmacy and a Committee member of the UKCPA Diabetes and Endocrinology Group. She collaborates with the pharmaceutical industry to deliver national and regional diabetes education to primary and secondary care health professionals. Michelle is on the Editorial Advisory Board of Clinical Pharmacist and contributes as a trainer and reviewer to CPPE diabetes training programmes.
