‘Building your confidence around antimicrobial stewardship’

A fantastic learning opportunity which will give you an overview of AMR in the UK, why it matters so much and what you can do to apply stewardship in your organisation/type of work.
The course is limited to small numbers so there will be lots of interactive learning and networking opportunities.

Learning outcomes:

The course will provide the following learning outcomes:
Overview of basic microbiology, and principles of treatment of infection
The ability to describe antimicrobial stewardship principles and strategies to promote appropriate antimicrobial use within different clinical settings
Become more confident in applying stewardship principles when managing infections within your clinical setting

Target Audience:

This course is aimed at pharmacists working within community or at a band 6-7 level in a hospital or GP practice setting, although would still be beneficial for all pharmacists looking to increase their working knowledge of AMR.

Attendance fees: RPS and UKCPA members £60, non members £85

The UKCPA Foundation Course: Basic principles of pharmaceutical care has been designed to help extend clinical knowledge and to develop the skills that underpin the delivery of pharmaceutical care. The course has been specifically designed for practitioners at Foundation level, whether they work in community, primary care or hospital practice.
A series of clinical workshops, led by experienced practitioners, will explore the role of the pharmacist in delivering pharmaceutical care. Each workshop will use clinical case studies to illustrate key issues from both community and hospital settings.
The course is mapped to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Foundation Curricula and will help attendees develop core skills, knowledge and behaviours that are essential for all areas of practice.

This is a fantastic event designed with pharmacists practicing at Foundation level, returning to practice who wish to update their clinical skills and overseas pharmacists new to clinical practice in mind.
Attendees will be supported to reflect on their learning and develop evidence which can be used in their RPS Foundation portfolio.
